  Thank you for visiting Safe Haven. We'd like to let you know a little about us.

Hello, I'm Kaz and I'm the webmaster of this site. I started this site back in March 2000 as a personal project for my own healing. I'm a survivor of sexual abuse as a child, and rape as an adult. I spent a long time in counselling and receiving help from fellow survivors online and I now consider myself in a position to be able to help others. Originally I am from South-East England but in March 2001 I moved to Sheffield in Yorkshire, England, to be with my ex-husband, Pat. I work as a Workforce Team Manager in a contact centre. I also work part-time evenings from home doing software testing.

My purpose in making Safe Haven is to provide a wealth of information, help and advice to survivors of sexual abuse and rape, from people who know what survivors are going through. I am not a doctor, psychiatrist or counsellor.

In the last few years, running costs for Safe Haven have increased due to the number of visitors we receive. I don't receive any funding for Safe Haven, so I have implemented Google ads to try to offset these running costs. I hope these do not prove too distracting to visitors and that you understand why I have done this.
