Should I Forgive?

Many times during my healing journey I have heard people talking about forgiveness, with some expressing the opinion that you will not be healed until you can forgive your abuser. If I'd come across that opinion at the beginning of my healing, I don't know whether I'd be where I am today. Because to me, forgiveness would mean telling the people who hurt me, "It's okay that you did that." And that's something I'll never do.

Panic Attacks, Flashbacks and Triggers

Many survivors of sexual trauma suffer from panic attacks, often accompanied by flashbacks. Panic attacks and flashbacks can be triggered by anything and everything.

You are not alone!

It wasn't your fault. Abusers rely on their victims' feelings of guilt and shame to keep their secret safe. By speaking out, we can help to overcome our own memories and perhaps stop rape and abuse happening so frequently. I refuse to be silent.
