Silence heavy and unforgiving
Like a shroud covers the night
Thoughts from deep within the soul
Stir memories hidden from mortal sight
Signs of trouble watchful eyes

Remembrance of an angry silence
Behind a furrowed brow is caught
The heart swells fills with emotion
Love still resides in the mind
Imprisoned by fear and bitterness
Blinded by the tears it finds
A wistful silence filled with longing
Awareness of living in the past
Inspires strength and understanding
Grasp the present and hold it fast
Take comfort from the silence
Release sadness and heal the pain
Let the tranquil night enfold you
